Thinking about some boots from Zara for this fall. These are the ones I love, but since I’m on a spending freeze….
Today is day two of fashion week, I am there thanks to social media. But I really want to go one day..one day…
I got these jeans from Asos.com on sale and i just can’t get enough of them. I have worn them like everyday this week. Anyway I talked my kid brother into being my photographer, here is his masterpiece.
The perfect closet to me is one that you walk into and have no trouble at all finding an outfit, no matter the occasion. Everything fits perfectly, looks good on you and flatters perfectly. In the pursuit of achieving this perfect closet there are a couple of things I kept in mind: what is my basic go to style and what things look good on me or flatter me. I needed to know this because all that other ‘stuff’ that did not fit into the categories of ‘my style’ or ‘look good on me’ had to go, I was not wearing them anyway and with me if I have not worn you the very first time I got you, the chances of me ever wearing you were slim, you were doomed.
But first I had to figure out my style, what I liked, here’s a big word, my ‘aesthetic’. consider yourself an artist. I mean you can wear what you want of course, I’m not saying do all this plenty work, but that’s what I did. I followed a lot of blogs, saved a ton of style outfits to my laptop, noticed a pattern and decided aha! this is what I like. Some of what I like below.
Fall is almost upon us meaning school is about to start. Although I am not in school (but will forever be a student), I put together some stuff I would totally wear if I were. I will wear them now! Most of these are basics so you might need to add here and there to complete your look. For instance a heavier coat if you live in more cooler regions or heels if you are up to the challenge of trekking around campus in them and of course add some color if its your thing.
There are a ton of fashion articles out there about closet basics, wardrobe basics yada yada, blah, blah, it is hard to take it all down. Some of the basics mentioned I will not even consider as a basic, so I was always a a little confused by them. This article however is amazing at explaining what basics are and should be. It doesn’t tell you to run out and go buy stuff. Basically, basics (see what i did there? hehe) are what you already own that work for you… go read the article, thank me later. I have come to realize that I wear these things enough on a daily basis to put them on my ‘basic’ list. What are your basics, share if you like. Fashion is fun, have fun with it.
