I am loving this custom camel coat so much that i have worn it so many times, I think my friends are getting tired of it lol. Oh well I love it tho, and I am always proud of myself when I am able to accomplish something. I have put myself on a ‘no buy’ status, where I have decided not to purchase anything new for my wardrobe till the end of the year, this is in an attempt to start living my new minimal life, living with less. Now some may say the end of the year is around the corner but if you know me, you will know this will be a challenge. I am determined tho and pray that I will stick to this. Here is how I wore it.

These moccasins have been speaking to me a lot. My love for low heeled shoes have increased a little bit. I don’t know why though. I guess having to run around after a three year old will do that to ya!

Simple and easy to wear for classes, around town, or on a daytime date. You can change out the flats for a pair of heels if you like or strappy sandals, its really up to you. Dressing up is fun, try it!
The perfect closet to me is one that you walk into and have no trouble at all finding an outfit, no matter the occasion. Everything fits perfectly, looks good on you and flatters perfectly. In the pursuit of achieving this perfect closet there are a couple of things I kept in mind: what is my basic go to style and what things look good on me or flatter me. I needed to know this because all that other ‘stuff’ that did not fit into the categories of ‘my style’ or ‘look good on me’ had to go, I was not wearing them anyway and with me if I have not worn you the very first time I got you, the chances of me ever wearing you were slim, you were doomed.
But first I had to figure out my style, what I liked, here’s a big word, my ‘aesthetic’. consider yourself an artist. I mean you can wear what you want of course, I’m not saying do all this plenty work, but that’s what I did. I followed a lot of blogs, saved a ton of style outfits to my laptop, noticed a pattern and decided aha! this is what I like. Some of what I like below.

There are a ton of fashion articles out there about closet basics, wardrobe basics yada yada, blah, blah, it is hard to take it all down. Some of the basics mentioned I will not even consider as a basic, so I was always a a little confused by them. This article however is amazing at explaining what basics are and should be. It doesn’t tell you to run out and go buy stuff. Basically, basics (see what i did there? hehe) are what you already own that work for you… go read the article, thank me later. I have come to realize that I wear these things enough on a daily basis to put them on my ‘basic’ list. What are your basics, share if you like. Fashion is fun, have fun with it.
